The maritime transport sector is responsible for about 2.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. While other sectors are trying to reduce their carbon footprint by making everything more efficient, the shipping industry has done the opposite! In fact, ships in 2013 were on average less efficient than ships from 1990! We are a group of passionate students who believe this can no longer continue! Our mission is to show the shipping industry that it can do better—and it must! We want to make the world a little bit better. Whether we are still studying, taking a gap year, or have just graduated, we have decided to take on this challenge this year!
